We only use the eco and hypoallergenic bottles

If there is a baby in the house, or somebody with allergies, what gets used on your floors matters as much as how clean they end up. Ours are eco-friendly and hypoallergenic, every time, without you having to ask.

Gray'Star Cleaning works out of Kaufman and across the Dallas area. Homes, apartments and Airbnbs, with regular cleaning, deep cleaning, and clean-up after building or remodeling work.

The floor a baby crawls on

Everything that goes on your floors is eco-friendly and hypoallergenic, in every house, every time.

You do not have to call ahead and request it, and it is not something extra on top. It is simply what is in the bucket when we walk in.

That matters more in this part of Texas than people think. Cedar shows up around the end of December and hangs on through February. Tree pollen takes over from February into May. Grass carries the summer, and ragweed starts in late August and runs until the first real cold. There is hardly a month in Kaufman County when nothing at all is in the air.

And in July and August, when it is over a hundred outside, nobody is opening a window. The doors stay shut, the air conditioning runs from morning to night, and the house breathes whatever is already inside it. So what gets left behind on your counters and your floors is what your family lives with until the next visit.

Pets are welcome, and that includes the dog, not only the cat who hides anyway. Nobody has to be shut in a bathroom for the afternoon. If he follows us from room to room, he follows us. He also spends his whole day lying on the same floor the baby crawls on, which is the other reason the products matter.

Out here that floor takes a beating. The ground is black clay, and after a spring rain it comes in on boots and paws and does not brush off. By August the same clay dries out, cracks open, and turns to dust, and the dust finds its way inside. It is the one thing every house between Kaufman and Mesquite has in common.

What we do differently on old wood

We work out of Kaufman and drive about an hour out from here in any direction. Talty, Forney, Terrell, Sunnyvale, Mesquite, Garland, Richardson, Red Oak, Dallas and across Dallas County.

That hour covers two different worlds. On one side are the subdivisions that keep going up around Forney and Talty, brick houses on streets that were pasture not long ago. On the other are the old wood-frame houses near the square here in Kaufman, standing since long before anybody living in them was born. They do not get dirty the same way, and they do not get cleaned the same way either.

A lot of the families we clean for are two people driving. One of them takes 175 the thirty miles into Dallas in the morning and gets home after dark. The house is theirs again on Saturday, and Saturday is also the only day the kids have them. Handing over the mopping is really handing back the morning.

Then there is the person running their own business. Out at job sites or with clients all day, coming home to a beautiful house they genuinely never see in daylight. That person is not asking somebody else to do what they cannot do. They are out of hours, which is a different thing.

We also clean for people who have kept the same house near the square for forty years and still keep it the way they always did. What got hard was never the wanting to. It was the bending, the tub, the bucket. Everything else they still do themselves.

And the ones who work from home, which everybody assumes is the easy case. You are inside the house nine hours, every single thing that needs doing sits in your line of sight, and you finish the day having never left work and never touched any of it.

There are apartments in Richardson, Garland and Dallas, short-term rentals that have to be turned around between one guest and the next, and houses that have just had work done. A remodel leaves drywall dust on top of every door frame and in every track and corner, and that is its own kind of job. We take all of it.

The first ten minutes are you talking

If you have never hired anybody to clean your house, here is the whole thing start to finish, so nothing about it is a surprise.

It begins with a message. Tell us what town you are in, how many bedrooms and bathrooms, and what has been bothering you most. That last part is the useful one. Then we find a day.

The day we come, nothing gets touched until we have walked the house with you. Room by room, you point. The baby's room. The desk where the papers stay exactly where they are. The shower that has never come clean for you no matter what you bought for it. Five minutes of that changes the whole visit.

A first cleaning usually takes longer than the ones after it, because it is catching up on everything at once. If what you want is a deep cleaning, that is the one that goes after baseboards, the inside of the microwave, behind the toilet, the top of the refrigerator, all the places a regular visit passes over.

You do not have to be there. Some people leave for work and come back to it finished. Some sit at the kitchen table on their laptop while we work around them. Both are completely normal. If you are heading out, just tell us how we get in and where the dog will be.

Then you pay whichever way is easiest for you. Cash, Zelle, Cash App, Apple Pay or a check. Whatever you already use every day.

And one single cleaning is a real answer. If you want the house done once before family comes to stay, or once after you move out of it, that is a job, not a trial run. If you would rather have it weekly, every two weeks, or once a month, that is the other way to do it. English or Spanish, whichever you would rather talk in.

Look this company up yourself

This company says it is registered as GRAY’STAR CLEANING LLC. You can check that on the public register of its state, for free, without an account.

Cleaning Profiles did not check this, and does not accept documents from anyone: a photo of a paper proves nothing, and a badge from us would prove less. The register is the state’s, and it answers you the same as it answers us. Why we do it this way
