We check nothing. Look them up yourself

Every state keeps a free public record of the businesses registered in it. When a company here gives us the name it registered under, its profile links straight to that record — about a minute of your time, and you read it yourself. We ask for no paperwork, and we would not take it if a company sent it: you are not trusting us for any of this.

1. 1The state, not us. A company can tell us the exact name it is registered under. We link you to its state’s official public register so you can look it up yourself, for free.
2. 2Straight from them to you. What a company says about itself reaches you exactly as it wrote it, word for word. We hold no paperwork on anyone and we could not authenticate a document if we did, so we tell you that plainly instead of letting you assume otherwise.
3. 3You decide. What a register shows you is that the business exists and is in good standing, meaning it is current with its state. Everything else — insurance, availability, how they work — you ask them directly, the same as you would with any contractor.

It is a smaller claim than a badge, and a sturdier one: it does not ask you to trust us at all. The record is published by the state, and you read it yourself.

We do not ask for insurance, a license, years in business, or anything else. A small operation that started last month is listed the same way as a company with fourteen people. Our job is to get cleaning companies in front of people who need cleaning — not to decide who is allowed to work.

Until August 2026 a company could send us its insurance certificate or its business license, we would look at it, and its profile would carry a badge with the date. We took that away on purpose, and it is worth saying plainly why.

We cannot authenticate a document. We have no way of knowing whether a policy is genuine, whether it is still in force, or whether the paper we were sent is what it claims to be. Putting our badge on it made you trust us, and there was nothing underneath that trust. A badge that means nothing is worse than no badge at all: it lends you our word on something we were never in a position to give it on.

Redacting a document does not fix it either: it is still us vouching for it, and it means holding personal data we would rather not have at all.

A register listing is not a rating, a background check, insurance, or a guarantee of the work. It tells you the business exists on the record of its state and nothing more.

A register tells you a business exists and whether it is in good standing. Insurance, availability and how they work are things you ask them directly. You can send exactly this:

“Before we start — can you send me your insurance details?”

That is the whole message, and a company that carries insurance sends it straight back.

Some listings show a count of what their customers answered — three yes-or-no questions, answered through a one-time link the company sends, or from the listing itself by anyone who confirms their email. We do not check that those jobs happened. All we check is that the link or the email is real, and we say so right next to the count instead of letting you assume otherwise.

What we do promise is the other half, and it is the part that makes a count worth reading: nothing comes down for being bad. A listed company cannot delete a review, cannot edit one, and cannot ask us to. It can reply underneath, and you read both.

Many people who clean houses work for themselves and never registered a company, so there is nothing to look up. A few states are not in our list either. It says nothing about their work.

These are the official state bodies, and searching them is free and needs no account. We add a state when the first company from it is listed.

Two notes worth knowing. Not every state keeps this at the Secretary of State: in Arizona it is the Corporation Commission, in Florida the Division of Corporations. The name above is whichever body actually holds the record. And in Texas the Secretary of State charges a dollar per search, so we link to the Comptroller’s free search instead.

This platform is new and growing. Every listing is a real company, and new ones are added as they join. We would rather be small than padded.

If a company here has closed, is not who it says it is, or something on its listing does not match, tell us. We would rather take a name off the list than defend it.
