Questions
The things people actually ask
Short answers, including the awkward ones.
Does it cost me anything to use this?
No. Searching, reading profiles and calling a company is free. The cleaning companies pay a monthly membership to be listed, and that is the only money involved.
Do you check the companies listed here?
No, and we say so on purpose. We do not ask for documents and we do not accept them, because we cannot authenticate an insurance policy or a license. What a company can do is tell us the exact name it is registered under, and then its profile links to the free public register of its state so you can look it up yourself. Not every profile has that link, and that says nothing about their work — often we simply do not have that state on file yet.
So anyone can be listed here?
Any cleaning company, yes. We do not decide who is allowed to work. What we do is keep this directory to cleaning only, so the people who land on it are actually looking for cleaning.
Will you give my phone number to companies?
No. We do not collect it. You call the company from the number on their profile, so nothing passes through us.
What if the company does a bad job?
Legally, the job is an agreement between you and the company; we are not a party to it. Practically: tell us what happened — the contact page is there for exactly this. If a company on this list is not doing right by people, we would rather take the name off than defend it. This directory is worth exactly what the people on it are worth.
Why are there so few companies in my city?
Because we are new, and we started small on purpose. We would rather show you the few companies that are really here than a long list padded with names nobody answers. If your city is quiet today it may not be next month — and if you know a cleaning company, send them our way.
Do companies pay to appear higher in the list?
No. There is one flat membership price and no way to buy a better position. Listings take turns at the top, so everyone gets their share of it.
Do the companies speak Spanish?
Every profile can list the languages that company works in, so you can check before you call. This directory was built with Spanish-speaking cleaning businesses in mind, and both languages work here.
Some listings say "sample". What is that?
While the first real companies come in, a few sample listings show what a finished profile looks like. Every one of them is labeled, and their phone numbers are in the 555 range reserved for fictional use, so you cannot call them by accident.
